Nowadays, there are a lot of new marketing ideas and tools are created just to help people to create more wealth online. There are people who learn and start their online business every single day. And when they come into this online world the first time, most of them did not know what to do. There are a lot of products and ads that claim that they can make you an internet millionaire in just 1 week! This is where starters who want to earn money online will fall for the trap. Since they are looking for opportunity, and they don’t have any clues on how to start their online business, they are more likely to purchase all these ‘promising’ products.

The fact is, online business is just like every other business, it requires knowledge and hard work. There are no quick route to success in the internet. What you need if you are new to internet marketing is foundation. Many people don’t even know what is internet marketing, they don’t even know how it works, and the moment they see ads which promise to make the rich in a faster way, they will straight away fall for it.

Well, I don’t say that it is impossible to make fast money on the net. If you have a huge email list, maybe it is possible for you. Or maybe you are so lucky, you hit the right button and you can be rich in a very short time. However, you must understand this, if you become rich suddenly, you are not going to stay long with your wealth, why? Simply because you did not obtain them with your real hard work, you are just lucky, you don’t have the knowledge how to create wealth.

That is why foundation is important. You have to learn from the start if you are serious in building a rock and solid online business. Many people hate to listen to this if I say that to earn money online is going to take you at least a few months, some even years. People don’t like this, because they have set the beliefs that internet is something like a get-rich-quick scheme. If you think it this way, you are wrong.

Just like if I told you that to create a successful blog, you have to first identify your niche and interest, then set up your own domain plus hosting, next is to install WordPress blog, after that post at least 20 posts which are keyword targeted, then submit your blog to search engine and social networking sites like BlogCatalog, StumbleUpon, Digg, etc. Can you see now? It is impossible to learn all these in just one day, you need time to learn all these. And we have not even touch about monetizing your blog yet.

That is why foundation is so much important. You have to learn about internet marketing, what are the ways to earn money online, how to build a website, how to write high-conversion sales copy, how to build a profitable blog, what is affiliate marketing, how to drive traffic and many more.

No matter in blogs or in your list, you will need to have good quality content. Solely this is because all your blog readers and list subscribers come to your blog or subscribe to your newsletter are looking for information. Therefore you must provide the information that they are looking for if you want to build trust and credibility with them.

Many people often underestimate the power of providing what your readers are looking for. You first need to build trust and credibility with your readers and subscribers before you can promote something to them. Many people often insert a lot of affiliate links in their content with the hope that their readers will read through their content, and most probably click through the links. And if lucky, maybe a small percentage of people will purchase and they make their sales.

However, this is not how it works if you want to be a Millionaire who earns from the net. If you want to have your readers buy what you recommend them, then you will have to give first, before you can finally receive. This is the rule of the universe, give and you shall receive. Therefore, you will have to provide them with what they are looking for. The more you give, the more you are going to receive.

Don’t worry that if you can’t make money in the beginning. You should focus in building trust and credibility with your readers and subscribers first, then only start recommending useful products or services that really can help your readers. This is just like in between all of your friends; there must be some that you like the most and you willing to help them the most. Why? Simply because they also help you a lot in from the moment you knew them. Building up relationship with your prospect is vitally important if you want to grow your business.

A business without a good relationship with their prospects or customers will not stay long. You should understand this, the more you provide quality information to your readers, the more they believe in your, they will treat like just like a friend. And when this happens, the easier you can convert them into sales because they trust you.

Put yourself in your prospects or customers shoe, are you going to buy something you recommend to yourself? I believe that you too, will buy products from publishers who do their best in giving you value. Just remember one thing, although you are making money with the internet, but the one you are dealing with are human beings.

Often, it is what your customers have to say about your business that matters. There are a lot of online business out there, some rises up and completely conquer their niche. And some struggling just to have a foothold. Why is this so? One of the reason is because of this, “understanding of your customers“. You need to know what your customer’s needs, then only you can fulfilled it.

Let me give you some example here. If you know your customers well like this:

- You write the right sales copy and with the right graphic
You can conquer your niche easily. But if you don’t understand your customers like this:
- Offer the wrong products and at the wrong price
- Write the sales copy that fail to capture your customers
- Not an attractive graphic, using the wrong message
What will happen then? Of course you will fail to conquer your niche. Therefore now you know how important knowing your customers can be.

So what I’m going to tell you next is that, market research is very crucial! You must learn how to do the market research correctly before you can even tap into a market. When you heard your friend told you that he wanted to run an online business, the first question to ask him is whether is he did the market research. If he told you he didn’t do the market research, then just turn him down. But if he had done the market research, sit down and listen more about the business detail.

No matter the old days brick and mortar business or the modern day online business, market research is a must! Just like playing tennis, if you don’t know the rules, there is no way you can beat the game. Starting a business without doing market research is just like going into war without having your bulletproof vest. That is why those big companies are so successful, this is because they will do the proper and complete market research before entering a new market or launching a new products.

Just because they did the market research correctly, their business can rise in a very short time. Have you notice that some of the products around you, which are not really a compulsary products, but the products still can sell. Just because they did the right market research and, their products sell. However, if their products have no values, then their sales will decrease in a very short term. Hence, market research is very important if you wanted to success in your niche. This is especially true if you want to make more money online.

Do all these sound familiar? I’m sure you’ve seen these ads when you’re surfing the net. These kind of ads or headlines are targeting opportunity seekers. If you are searching for opportunity seeker, then you probably will click on one of these ads and buy the products they offered.

An opportunity seeker is some one who are looking for an opportunity to make more money without spending much effort. Opportunity seeker wanted to make more money in the fast way, they believe that there are some kind of ’secrets’ where you can make lots of money in a short period and without much effort. When they try out an ‘opportunity’, and it doesn’t make them any money in the first week (or month), they will usually give it up and move towards other opportunities.

What you want here is not an opportunity for you to make easy money. What you want to have is a solid business that can last long enough, a business that can makes you earn a continuous flow of income. You want a business that can grow and expand where you will able to achieve your freedom, time freedom, financial freedom, and the lifestyle you’ve always desired.

Don’t wait for opportunity, create it! Yea, this is true, don’t wait for opportunity, create it. And don’t becomes an opportunity seeker, what you want is not an opportunity, what you want is a strategy to create a solid business which can bring residual income for you.

I’ve seen a lot of people becomes opportunity seeker and they bought a lot of products which promise to make them rich in just a short period. But in the end they end up with making no money at all. When there is a potential to make money, just like the internet, it will quickly flooded with opportunity seekers. Always remember this, there is no short cut to success, this will not work anymore.

Have you ever heard this, “the money is in the list“? I don’t know, but I’ve heard this over and over again. Those who make money from the net, keep on telling that the money is in the list.

So what does this mean? Have you ever come across some sites that offer your free e-book or any report? You will need to fill in an opt-in list, with your name and email. Then only the site author will email you your free gifts. This is it, they capture your email address, and follow up you in future. The free gift is just some kind of short introduction to their products, mostly e-books and software. And most people will not buy at the first contact.

This is where the list comes into play. Lets say that only 1% of people who subscribe or you capture is going to buy for your products. You know what, 1% traffic conversion is consider very high at the first contact. How bout the rest? The 99%, are your going to just let them go? Of course not. So you will then send follow up email via autoresponder to your prospects. And statistic shows that most of the prospects will buy at the 5-7 contact.

If you can generate another 1% of sales from your follow up, you’re quite successful. So now you understand why the opt-in list and follow up are so important. It is very important to have an opt-in list and to follow up your prospects. It is a MUST if you want to success in internet marketing. Frankly speaking, I’ve never seen any successful internet marketer promote their products without an opt-in list. So you just need to follow their steps.

I just wanted to let you know that, building up a list to promote your product is very important. And the result from it is amazing. It is worth it for you to learn more about how to build an opt-in list. In addition, follow up emails can help you cover up all the traffic which you’ve drive, but not yet convert into sales. Therefore it won’t be a big loss if your prospect doesn’t buy at the first time.

This is an era of customer relationship management. You must know how to handle your relationship with your customer. If you have a list, you can even promote your second or other people’s products to your customers in your list. You need to treat your customers like your friends, your partners. It is always easier to have repeating sales from the same customer than to generate sales from a new customer.
